We are currently experiencing a much higher number of emergencies than typical. In addition, many veterinary practices in the area have closed or are finding themselves sending cases through our emergency rooms because they too are overwhelmed with the additional number of patients needing medical attention. 

The increasing and unpredictable volume in our Emergency Rooms has caused us, at times, to have to divert cases when we are at full capacity or to limit the types of cases we can see.

In order to manage the ER cases in real-time, Ethos has created a Patient Severity Index. The index includes 5 levels of patient severity and pets coming into our emergency rooms will be treated based on the Severity Index.
